Yes, I should have mentioned that boiling milk on medium low is better than medium high. You really do have to be patient with it. Getting in a hurry will make a big mess. It's true, you can feel the bubbling through the handle of the pan.
The boiling point of milk is maybe a degree or so higher than the boiling point of water, so a thermometer would help if you have one. We had to boil our milk in Ecuador.
