You can make a file called
~/.gtkrc-2.0

and put in it

gtk-font-name = "Sans 10"

(or whatever font size suits you).

and for an OS-X native look,

include "/sw/share/themes/Glossy_P/gtk-2.0/gtkrc"

You can also create a system-wide version of the file

/sw/etc/gtk-2.0/gtkrc

and put those lines in there.

Check also to make sure you don't have the line

gtk-font-name = "LucidaGrande 15"

it is obsolete with the new pango-cairo coot.

Hi Bill

Ive been running coot on my Intel Laptop (Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 2.4 GHz Number Of Processors 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2) these days. Your build is fully functional and stable it seems, but the the gui-fonts are kinda big for the laptop screen. Is there any way to tweak this and make them smaller. I've not been able to find the right settings/ files etc. Is the font size determined at time of compilation??
