Hari, you should consider waiting until April 26 for the release of the next LTS version (Precise Pangolin). Maverick is no longer supported by Canonical, so in theory you would have to upgrade three times all the way to Oneiric which will, alas, expire in two months. Good news is that starting with Precise, Canonical will support both server and desktop LTS versions for full five years.
