Dear Coot users, Dear Paul,
Hello Xavier,
Coot v1 now looks more robust,
Yes, it is.
and I would like to switch soon.
When you do, try to switch to the new default mouse bindings.
Using Homebrew (I work on MacOS), I have installed the last version 1.1.12.
Well done Yoshitaka Moriwaki.
However, I still seek a feature from the « old » Coot, the "Carbohydrate Module
», to automatically generate Glycozylations.
Where has this module been placed in Coot v1? Has it been implemented?
(This question (or something like it) was asked at the study weekend)
It has not been addressed. The reason is that gui needs to be completely
rewritten. It will be a unexciting task - I don't like GUI Python
coding. The WTA mode should be easy to convert - it's the LMA mode that
is stumbling block. It needs to be done though - it is, I believe, the
most important missing feature. I'll take a look to see what can be done
for 1.1.13.
Talking about interface, with « old » Coot, we can place some tools shortcuts
such as « Find Waters » etc.. in the interface. Is it possible to customize the
Coot v1 interface in such a way?
Yes I think so (depending on what exactly you would want to do)
Paul.
