But that also changed _all_ the strings that already described a
single option.  There was no need for that.  Don't overwhelm the
translators with massive string changes.  Try to keep the churn
to a manageable amount per release (less than a hundred strings).

Sure.  But you've lost me as a translator.  I give up.
