Hi. This isn't really on topic for this list, but I assume many of you who are running some Cosign environment are also managing users in LDAP, and supply mail services for these users.
Up until now I have been using Postfixadmin. It's mostly myself managing the mail accounts, and there is not much change, so updates are infrequent. I will be migrating the few mail accounts from the MySQL database to LDAP for my new server, and I'm looking around to see what kind of schema I should use. So far I've looked at a few different mail administration solutions, and a few different schemas. I've looked at systems like Jamm and Phamm for administration, and their schemas. Also the qmail schema, and I think one from courier or cyrus (I can't remember which). The Jamm/Phamm systems doesn't seem right for me. So far I have at least settled for using Postfix together with Dovecot, to supply SASL/GSSAPI kerberos login as well as plain text over TLS/SSL (possibly for use with an LDAP simple bind, which in turn uses saslauthd for Kerberos auth). I hope I can get it to work the way I want. Anyway, to my questions. What different administration interfaces (web based, and cosign friendly, preferably) have you used that might be suited for my simple needs? All I manage are a few virtual domains that rarely require updating. I could easily do this with phpldapadmin, but if I want to delegate administration of a virtual domain (like I can with postfixadmin), some more user friendly interface would be simpler. Part two of my question is, which schema is easily adopted for a LDAP structure that will have real user accounts as children to ou=People,dc=example,dc=com, and multiple virtual domains (as well as the example.com as main recipient). Also, aliases for these users should be able to point to local mailboxes as well as be redirected to external mail accounts (gmail and such). I'm close to sitting down and drawing up my requirements and making my own schema. /Tobias ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
