Hello Listers,

When compiling this file I was intrigued by the considerable number of hedge 
schools in Taughboyne, a parish with a large Presbyterian population. I 
incorrectly assumed that such schools was where Catholics achieved an education 
and was surprised that it was not only Catholics  who were subject to penal 
laws, but also Presbyterians. Upon reading “Hedge Schools in Ireland“ this 
aspect of Irish history was clarified and I requested Jim McKane to include 
this item in the CTI archives
