Donegal, Ireland 1835 Hello Listers, When compiling this file I was intrigued by the considerable number of hedge schools in Taughboyne, a parish with a large Presbyterian population. I incorrectly assumed that such schools was where Catholics achieved an education and was surprised that it was not only Catholics who were subject to penal laws, but also Presbyterians.
