Hi, Elwyn .. I am a grandson of a Kildress resident.

For interest, what are the four schools that PRONI holds records for, and (if
available) what dates are covered?

Many thanks.

next week!! )

School attendance records are listed on the PRONI website listed by parish and
the prefix SCH/-. 4 schools in Kildress parish do have records but sadly
Dunnamore is not one of them.

I had little hope that any would survive.

Thanks for your efforts.

Jim and Edward,

It is unlikely that any student records for Dunnamore National School, near
Cookstown, Kildress Parish, Co. Tyrone have survived; such a timeline is so
early in Ireland (pre Famine); generally records of student enrolments do not
commence until the late nineteenth century. It is difficult that such records
have survived, but will be archived in PRONI, Belfast

Referring to the PRONI e-catalogue

I see a downable reference to a grant aid application made in 1838 which
includes signatures of some parents. Hopes this is of some assistance,

I have no idea; however, I have copied Len Swindley on this email in the event
he may know.

Thanks for your support

My ancestors likely were tenants on land surrounding Dunnamore National School.
I saw the write up on it by Burns. He could not add anything to what was
already written.

My question is are any of the early records from the school still in existence
(1828 - 1834 time frame).

Any help you could provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ed Kane
