Thanks Michael, Could you file an issue at couchbase.com/issues? I'd gladly file it for you or get it to the component owner to be filed, but it may be helpful to you to see any updates.
This is probably something that isn't tested since moving it about isn't primary functionality. It's something we should track and fix though, in my opinion. It might be helpful if, when you file the issue, you give some context as to why you were trying to move it. From the web-ui my server was noted as "pending" status, and rebalance never finished. I even tried deleting and re-adding the bucket manually, which did work but it came back in permanent pending status. So I stopped the server, moved it back to "Couchbase Server.app", restarted it, and it worked.
