Dick,

If there is a high curve in the transfer tube ( wing to wing tank) then as
the fule level gets below the high point, all flow will stop from the left
wing to the right wing if a bubble occurs from the transfer. This breaks
the
siphon flow (if any). Then the right tank flows into the line where the
pump
sucks it up and pumps it into the cowl tank....leaving unused fuel in the
left wing tank.

My coupe has a rubber hose connecting the tanks. I think that originally
there was a metal line, with a bend in it to allow for
expansion/contraction
without rupturing the the metal line. If this :bend" isd located so that
it
is pointing up, then it could stop the flow from tank to tank. I think it
should be positioned flat on the floor of the coupe, so that fuel can be
gravity transferred between tanks.
