Sounds more like a static leak than a pitot leak. Check for breaks or
leaks
in the static lines that may cause it to read the pressure in the cockpit
rather than outside pressure.
Hope this helps.

Hi all, we have a '58 Forney F-1 which we are doing and extended annual /
IRAN on. We think we have a leak in our pitot system within the cockpit
since we have a higher indicated airspeed with the windows open rather
than
with the windows closed. Has anyone else run into this problem, is it a
common problem. I know all good pilots are supposed to be able to fly
without an airspeed indicator, but I would really like to get this fixed.
Thanks to all and keep 'em flying.
