It appears that my oil leak has been coming from the fuel pump gasket. The rear bolt, which is very difficult to get to with the breather line and baffling in place was quite loose.
I believe that is the problem, and have fixed it. But since I am doing some other work on the engine, I can't test that theory for a couple of weeks. Thanks to the person who made that suggestion. I don't think it was posted in general so I repeat it here. I found both fuel pump mouting bolts to be quite loose, and the oil smear seemed to come from that area...so I am hoping that problem is solved.
