Finally, I got to ride in a coupe!!!! Met CFI, Tim at 8:00 and flew for awhile doing turns, slow flight and near stalls. Then, several landings at nearby field that was normal width. Finally, back at I34 with parachute traffic and 45 ft wide runway. After finishing some paperwork, fueling and filing a flight plan, I took off and flew to Mansfield. Broken clouds at around 3500ft changed some of my plans but all went well. I even used the radio and got clearance and radar following through Dayton vicinity, "squaking" 0347. After refueling in Mansfield, I flew on home to CGF which is near where we live. My wife had beat me home with the Buick Le Sabre! but she had a headstart - while I worked with Tim. Because of the winds, I only maintained about 90mph.
Question: Should the vent hole of the gas caps be facing foreward or rearward? The caps do not seem to be very tight. Do they ever jiggle loose and come off in flight? Should I get new gaskets to prevent problem of water in the gas tank?
