You guys should consider slimming your Ercoupes down.  Mine weighed 816
when
new, 814 in 1979 and it has even less equipment on it now since I am
removing the gyros that I can't get working.  Low weight makes a noticable
difference compared to the heavy ones that I have seen.  I think it even
sits up taller.  Everybody wants to waste 30 pounds (according to Airtex)
on
those side panels for the cockpit.  A lighter way is to clean the inside
of
there real well and just paint it. Cosmetics don't make it fly.  30 pounds
is a lot on a plane that can get so marginal in hot weather.  Glen Ward
