----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- You guys should consider slimming your Ercoupes down. Mine weighed 816 when new, 814 in 1979 and it has even less equipment on it now since I am removing the gyros that I can't get working. Low weight makes a noticable difference compared to the heavy ones that I have seen. I think it even sits up taller. Everybody wants to waste 30 pounds (according to Airtex) on those side panels for the cockpit. A lighter way is to clean the inside of there real well and just paint it. Cosmetics don't make it fly. 30 pounds is a lot on a plane that can get so marginal in hot weather.
