----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Oil! You'll get a hundred opinions on this one. I use Aeroshell straight weight oil. I don't believe in using a multigrade in any engine that sits a lot. Time causes the multigrade additives to break down and you end up with a thinner oil than you want. Strangely, before I bought my IO360 powered Cardinal (200hp) it had been overhauled by Pen Yann. They had put a HUGE sticker in the log books stating to only use straight weight oil but no explanation as to why. My diesel powered bus/RV which uses a Detroit 8V71 engine also specifies straight weight oil. Seems as though many don't think much of multigrade oils.
