Well, my airplane is still not flying. We're reassembling my engine and the issue of exhaust system support has come up. On my M-10 I have the straight exhaust pipe configuration (not the transverse muffler) on the C-90 engine. The manual shows each exhaust pipe assembly being held from a mid location to the engine mount by a "strap". Two questions: 1) What is the original strap made of? 2) It seems (to me) that the exhaust pipes should be restrained to the engine, not the engine mount. Does anyone have experience with a better arrangement than the original? Comments appreciated -- thanks much in advance.
