Personally I have the single sided nose gear (original) and it hasn't
given me any problems. It does however have an add-on bearing assembly to
even the side loads. I guess if I ever had problems with mine I'd replace it
with the double sided gear, but I wouldn't let the single sided gear be a
deal breaker on an otherwise good airplane. What part of the country are you
from?
