In regard to Randolph 900 series sealers: I called Randolph asking for
data sheets on their sealants. They asked for my email address and
would send them that way as I did not have FAX. Received the data
sheets as well as a personal email from the President of the company
advising that NONE of their sealants are FAA approved!! and to use them
at my own risk and furthermore, they DO NOT recommend them for aircraft
use and in very cold weather. Makes you wonder what happens at 10,000
feet in sub-zero weather with a little turbulence. Whoever sloshed the
tanks in N99997 caused the aircraft to be declared "Unairworthy due to
fuel system contamination" at the last annual before I bought it. The
sloshing compound came loose and completely fouled the system. I had to
remove the tanks and disassemble them to remove the sloshing compound
with Paint remover. Long job but not difficult. I did get the airplane
cheap partly because of this problem.
Slosh at your own risk.
