OK, I know how to butt into into a flame war <g>.

I do not believe the baffling is REQUIRED for the C85 conversion.

See Univair document number 4-00001U "Specifications, AD Notes, STC's"
page
4 (Aircraft Specification No. A-718) Type Certificate for the 415-C and
415-CD.

110. Engines
Continental C-85-12 or -12F

"eligible on model 415-C provided the following are accomplished:
(a) Modifications specified under item 106 <dea note - 106 only applicable
to SN 112 and below)
(b) Wide elevator trim tab"

My 415-C came with the C85 but no baffles and no wide trim tab (i.e. not
legal)

I added both but only the wide trim tab is required according to my
reading
of the type certificate.

Please note - this is nitpicking (but then so is worring about the weight
of
the baffles IMHO).
