I did about the same with less hours. I was an 18 hour pre-solo student
when I purchased my M10. Rental was over 1 hour away, and I wanted my
own aircraft anyway. Still haven't taken my checkride yet, but have
racked up almost 80 hours, most of it in my M10. Two pieces of advice
for you:

1) Have a THOROUGH pre-purchase inspection done by an A/P that you trust
and know well.

2) Even if the aircraft comes through the pre-buy with flying colors,
budget 15-20% of your purchase price for items that will pop up during
the first 6 months (and I promise they will).

Otherwise, I think you will really like having your own plane and flying
a coupe. My instructor really seems to enjoy instructing me in the
Mooney vs a 150/152.

Good Luck!
