It's me again. We were thinking of doing the C-150 seat mod, and we may still end up there, but before we do I thought I would ask if anyone had ever moved the existing seat structure backwards. None of the components of the existing structure are primary structure, so I don't see a problem of using the field mod/337 route for approval. If we were to do the job we would shorten the top and bottom rails and move them backwards. An 2"x2" L-bracket installed on the seat-pan aft-hinge line together with the existing pan would give us 2" more leg room and moving the upper rail back by three inches would give more recline for us bigger chaps. Problem is, access to the remains of the baggage compartment would have to be via a removeable seat back, as the already small gap at the top would be letterbox size. Would the large baggage compartment STC help in this respect? So, two questions. Has anyone attempted this and would the large baggage mod help? Regards.
