----[Please read http://ercoupers.com/disclaimer.htm before following any advice in this forum.]---- Dear Fellow Coupers, the time of my M10 Cadet in Japan seems to come to an end, as I will return to Europe later this year. Of course, the Mooney will come with me, and we are looking forward to a completely new environment and many more fun trips. Flying in Europe also puts up a whole set of new questions and problems to deal with, however. One of them are the stringent noise abatement rules in effect, especially in Germany. In this context my question: Is anybody on the list aware of the existence of official (!) noise (I should better say "sound") measurements for the coupe. Any model of the Ercoupe / Aircoupe / Alon / Forney / Mooney family would do. As far as I can tell based on my limited research on the topic so far, there are official guidelines in effect how to measure the noise from propeller driven aircraft, and those data will be kept with the authorities. I will also write to Univair as the type certificate holders and see what they can contribute. Being able to present already existing data to German authorities may get me around a possibly required "noise test", which in itself is not inexpensive. On this background, if there were any members on the list with experience in aviation in Europe, particularly Germany, I sure would love to hear from them. Thanks in advance, and best wishes, Stefan in Tokyo Mooney M-10 Cadet N9547V www.hpo.net/users/sfanselow/m10/ ==^================================================================
