Anybody have any thoughts on high time C-85's? My Coupe has 1700+ hours
on it now but is still running great. Screen looks good, pressures all
above 70 and the oil pressure jumps right up. Part of the reason I am
concerned is that it was last overhauled in 1965. Last top in 86. Any
thoughts would be appriciated.

My c75 has over 2200 hrs total and about 350 on the top. I too have some
concern but my IA who is known around the state for his antique
restorations( Alan Buchner) doesn't seem to have a problem with it. Every
other oil change I have the oil analyzed and it comes back clean. Many
a&p's I have spoke with seem to think that the lower ends of the small
continentals are bullet proof. It doesn't bother me to take my coupe
anywhere I want to go although one day soon I do plan on a new squirrel.
