I don't think there is more of a problem with painted coupes/or unpainted
ones.....

Alunimum oxidozes and forms a protective coating on the surface of the
metal -
however this is a dull surface... So if you want a shiny coupe, find one
that
has not been painted, or restore a previously painted one - very difficult
to
get it all clean, and repolish the surface. Once polished , paint with
clear
coat......, and wax, and polish, and wax, etc...The original shiny finish
(Alunimum clad - Alclad) was removed when the coupe was initially painted.

Mine is painted, and I'm in the process of repainting...... Wish it had
never
been painted....but...

Either way, if you can keep the bird in a hanger, that is the best......to
keep the coupe dry when in storage.
