Quote from page 181, "From The Ground Up", para 2, " Because of our airplane's spin-proof and two control features, government testing was exceedingly thorough. An additional reference is page 216, 2nd para., and refers to the the new classification of light airplanes - Normal Catagory - which allows a higher load factor if the airplane was restricted from aerobatics.... This refers to the new loading of 3.8 G positive load factor maximum. The coupe had been designed to the previous limits , which I think was 5 Gs, positive.... " This new classification allowed us to increase the Ercoupes gross weight from 1260 to 1400 pounds". Harry
