Before we get too excited about the AOPA article when the author talks about the proper technique in handling crosswind landings, we must remember that this writer (as well as all magazine and newspaper writers) is using his impressions and information (often very incomplete information) that he got during interviews with people that may or may not be experts on the subject. Twice in the article he made reference to "a properly inflated nose-gear strut." How do you inflate your nose-gear strut in an Ercoupe? I've owned mine for 16 1/2 years and completely rebuilt it, and have never been able to "inflate" my nose-gear. It's not possible. Always take any magazine or newspaper (or radio or TV) information with a _ton_ of salt.
