I was
looking through the type certificate (since at this time of year it rains in the
Pacific NW I don't have anything better to do!) and I happened to notice that
under approved propellers there were 2 adjustable pitch propellers approved for
the Ercoupe.
One is
called a Koppers Aeromatic F200 hub. What little I have been able to
research is that it was an adjustable pitch propeller with wooden blades that
had no control...aka, it would automatically adjust the propeller pitch based on
load.
The
other is a controllable Beech R002 or R003 which has a propeller control,
although aparently is not constant speed. (?)
Does
anyone know anything about these? Are they still available, if not, why
not? Sounds like a great idea!
