Tom,
Sounds great Tom. Just one thing, and I'm surprised Larry didn't pick it
up. There should be no trim tabs on the ailerons. A lot of people have
added these, (N93775 had one when I bought it, and was one of the first
things I corrected) but they are not needed and just end up slowing the
plane down - remember, this is not a Cessna. Look at pages 26/27 of the
Ercoupe Service Manual for the correct procedure for correcting wing
heaviness in flight. I quote,

"If wing heaviness exists with the controls properly aligned, extreme
trailing edge of aileron (flat section containing rivets) may be used as
fixed trim tab and bent with suitable metal bending pliers. (*I use a very
wide jawed crescent wrench). Bending must begin at outboard end of aileron
opposite heavy wing, and bending must be downward. Amount of bending and
length of area bent varies with amound of wing heaviness present. Slight
bend over great length is preferabele to pronounced bend over lesser
length."

So I recommend you remove the tab and level the plane by using the above
procedure. It is a very simple task and works quite well without an ugly
piece of metal hanging off the rear of the aileron. It takes about four
or
five flights to get it right, but once done, you no longer have to worry
about it - or of someone coming along and bumping into the trim tab. The
amount of bend is almost negligable if done over the complete length of
the
aileron, so be careful and don't overdo it.

See you Sunday at the fly-in (or swim-in depending on the weather). JUST
REMEMBER IT'S AT THE CHINESE RESTUARANT AT THE SOUTH END OF THE ALBANY
AIRPORT. NOT AT THE FBO.
