Others have answered your first question about the fate of the
Seacoupe, so I'll answer your second question. "Did they change the NC
numbers to N numbers?" Yes, the "C" was dropped from all U.S. aircraft
designations around 1951, as were all of the other "second letter
destignations. "NC" stood for certificated, "NR" stood for restricted
to flight crew, "NX" stood for experimental, and "NS" stood for
government owned. These "second letter designations" are now legal to
