Bob, What a shame to have lost the coupe this way....... I loved to do spins in my earlier days, but I always was sure to be up high - I liked 10,000 feet or so in T-6's - to be sure to have sufficient altitude to get out if I screwed up...Ha.
After loosing the right aelrion, it just might have been saveable...maybe not,.... one wonders just how long he tried to break the stall, and let it stabilize, etc... one aelrion would have suitable for turns if gently done, probably.... Still , I sure he was glad to have on a chute... I think of Bob Hoover saving the F86 prototype.... There may have been other coupes fitted with floats - maybe not even certified..., but I am not aware of any ---but seem to remember somewon offering a set of floats in Coupe Capers in the last year or so.....???? Regards, Harry
