Hi all, Seems on return from Jacksonville my 1946 415C 85 hp Coupe blew out the end cap on the muffler that feeds hot air to the carb. It tried to scorch the fuselage paint from the firewall with hot exhaust gas clean back to about mid wing indicating that the muffler is bad internally as well. My A&P also cares little for the aluminized exhaust headers that are on my ship as well, although they appear to be in good condition. He prefers the stainless headers and only the stainless.
So, it seems that I need a new, rebuilt or good used muffler and possibly some stainless headers to do things right. Any thoughts other than Univair and how I might save some bucks? Anybody with parts to sell? Regards, Bob Urban
