Ken Doyle, I'm kind of surprised you didn't find the Burkhead who was a member in North or South Carolina.
Sure hope you can get off work to come to the National on Friday, too. Even Thursday & Friday. Though we don't have a gozillion flying events planned, it sure is nice to talk shop with Coupe friends. I'm not yet sure if it'll happen, but Rita Wright thought John Sr. might fly the plane back to my airport for me today or tommorrow. If so, I might be flying tommorrow! I hate to impose on John so I hadn't asked him for that favor. Though John is a pretty busy mechanic (a lot busier than before he "retired"), he had gotten me into his schedule quickly this spring even though we knew it was going to be a major-project kind of annual. I feel a lot better, though. Some things he found and showed to me were important. My non-Ercoupe specialist mechanics had failed to see these things. (Loose rivets at the base of the control column, rigging, engine baffels, thorough corrosion check, etc.) John Sr. said, on the test flight the plane held altitude quite well after taking all the slop out of the control rigging. I just thought my sloppy technique was why I was wandering up and down by +-250 feet so much. :-) Ed Burkhead N3802H, 415-D
