John Wright just moments ago called to tell my my Coupe is ready to bring home from the "Coupe Factory" at the Springfield, Ill, airport.
It's just had a ** thorough ** annual (really combined 4-year annual) plus taking care of an accumulation of things that non-coupe mechanics had overlooked for decades. We've bypassed everything cosmetic (she's only beautiful to someone who appreciates quality structure). Instruments and avionics will have to wait for another day -- I'll keep going with a handheld radio and a $99 GPS. But we'll be flying soon. I have to get her home and, since I don't have my medical, I have to wait will Roy Prugh gets back from a trip or until I can make other arrangements. Then I'll still have to have an instructor or licensed command pilot along until I can get my medical back which may take a few more months. <sigh> But it looks likely that I'll succeed at getting my medical back. But I'm going to go flying soon! Just had to tell somebody! Ed
