Darrell:

My .02 worth.

Step 1.Find someone with a coupe an go for a ride.

As far as rudder pedals versus no rudder pedals to me that is a personal
choice I have time in both. I have found that once you learn to fly
one with out rudder pedals the cross winds are not going to bother you.
My opinion is that the rudder pedals give your feet something to do.

Nose gear the double fork is better .

Some time back I believe their was a pretty good article on
pre purchase inspection of ercoupe's in the Coupe Capers Mag.
I am presently away from home base or I would try to find it for you.
Maybe someone else on the list has a copy. If not when I get back
to home base will try to find it.

<< Dear Coupers:

What advice would you give to someone who is currently looking at buying
a
Ercoupe as a first airplane. I have several thousand hours as a bush
pilot
on the Canadian shield, but have never flown a coupe.

Any insight on what to look for and what to watch out for, pedals vs
original, pros and cons of the original nose gear, etc., is appreciated.

 Thank you
