In rebuilding my coupe, my mechanic told me that the Stromberg carbs
always
leaked, and although sorta dangerous, that's why most coupe drivers turn
off the gas beneath the panel at the end of the day. He also says that
the
mixture control on the Strombergs was ineffective at best. That (he says)
is why most of them are wired in a rich position???

He recommended, and I went for it, that we install a Marvel-Scheblier, so
that I could have an effective mixture control (that was not an
inexpensive
process!). Why do I want a mixture control??? For one I like gadgets,
dials and such, and secondly, I have four-cylinder CHT and EGT's, and the
only way to effectively use them is by being able to adjust the mixture.
