Yeah...I kind of thought it was more like this. Prentiss just says it is "designed maximum cruise 114mph" and doesn't mention the "hp vs drag" part. Why would Weick use an arbitrary 144mph for the max structural speed, rather than a calculated one...surely it is calculable! Do I see an inference in what you say, that the 144mph figure is "quite conservative"? My C85 might get up to 108 on a good, smooth day. Keep talkin' and surely keep flyin'!
