Andy, yes you are right. My Ercoupe has always been wrong. Everything
possible was done including spending around $5,000 after I bought it but
it
was still wrong. It had been crashed and repaired before, maybe that was
it. I don't know. But I hardly lost control because of bad piloting.
Most
times it was fine, perhaps 1% of the time something went wrong and it
handled strange on landing but it all checked out on the ground. Every
time
I fixed it up I thought I'd solve its problems, but no! It was certainly
"airworthy" and everybody said it looked real good. If what others say
about theirs is true then my plane was just a real dog. That is just how
it
is. But every plane can be good or bad depending upon your perspective.
I
figured if these guys were going to bring it on, then I'd give them a
fight.
I am amazed that they would automatically assume that I was at fault. GET
A
GRIP PEOPLE. There will be no FAA report as no accident report was filed.
The airport manager decided this so "can it", whoever was going to say
something about that. Heck, the plane "looked" flyable. George, you must
be
really a smart fellow if you can figure all that out about my flying skill
without even flying with me! GW
