Spike, Where have you been? Larry and I had a comprehensive discussion regarding 75 vs. 85 horse power engines. If ever there was a question in anyone's mind as to what is required, we answered it. Be advised that most of what Larry said is questionable, but between the two of us, you can glean some facts and information. It's only been a couple of weeks, so check the trash mail for the stuff you deleted without reading ( thinking it was rubbish no doubt ) you'll find it both entertaining and informative, even though there are those that say
that's impossible. To recap: If the C85 is listed on the type certificate for your particular aircraft, then it's a bolt on log book entry typ of thing BUT!!! you have to bolt on any other parts the TC calls for with the C85, including cooling mods and the like, and new tach markings. You need to install all the parts the factory would have installed if it was a C85 from day one. The propeller may be of the correct type but you will need to re-pitch it to bring the static RPM of the new engine into the range required for that airframe/engine combo. (hint: it's going to be finer pitch and higher RPM). Curley John Hey Larry! Where's Moe? Nyuck, nyuck nyuck! __________________________________________________________________________ ______ To unsubscribe from this list please send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] _____________________________________________________________ Get your favorite topic delivered daily. http://www.topica.com/t/11
