Hi all, I just got the good news that the Imperial valve sold by SkySport for the header tank was passed by my FSDO ..... whoo hoo!!! I called Lee and told
him I would send him a copy of the approved 337 when my AI gets it back. Anyone else who wants a copy let me know and I will send it to you. Thanks for all the words of encouragement. Now last thing on the list is a rebuild of the Stromberg Carb. When they were running an ops check (in 10 degree temps) the engine would not run smoothly unless the carb heat was on. Is this usual? Tweaking the mixture didn't seem to do much if anything. Also the mag drop was about 300 rpm on the left mag without carb heat but only 50 rpm difference between to two with heat. Pretty weird. Anyone have any thoughts on this??? The carb is all that stands between me and blue sky's. I have ordered a rebuild kit from Lee and hopefully that's all it will require along with cleaning and adjusting.
