Rob,

Congrats on the 337....

On the Carb, I would first remove the mixture control valve and clean.
Often
when we clean the air filter and don't oil it properly -- imerse in oil
and
let drain ---for the mesh filter.. then dirt passes into the carb and
stops
up the mixture control valve...

Remove the two screws, on the top of the carb, front, using a 90 degree
bent
screwdriver. Carefully lift up the assy, being careful to not drop the
spring. Now clean the rotating disc holes (3), and re-install. After
installation, and safetying the screws, then also check all intake hoses
for
security, and the intake fitting on each cylinder for tightness and gasket

integrity.

Now, if the carb float needle valve has been replaced, checK for the
proper
weight placement on the float lever... SEE Bendix-Stromberg Carb Service
Buletin #ACSB 84, REv 1,. page 164, 165, 166 - of Univair Parts Book
concerning the valve replacement and float weight.

If the weight is required (delrin Needle)--depending on the needle valve
--
and is missing, then the float closes the valve too quickly, making the
fuel
level too low in the float bowl--and a lean mixture... I think...
