May I please suggest that we all NEVER AGAIN CLEAN THE AIR FILTER and
reuse it!

After one such cleaning, my filter shed enough fibers to clog the
mixture plate (or the tube to it) during the next flight.  The engine
started running very rough since it was too lean, improving somewhat
with carb heat that richened the mixture some.  I think this flying for
10 minutes with detonation caused the problems for which we soon had to
tear down the engine.

I've changed to the Brackett filter and I urge everyone else to change
away from the fiber filter unless someone can cite problems with them
that are worse.
