A leaky wing tank could be the culprit. Inspect the seam on the bottom of the plane at the aft edge of the tanks for obvious signs of leakage. Mine triclked down the inside of the spar and the smell followed. If yo don't see any signs, remove the screws along the bottom edge and gently pull the tank flange downward. Use a flashlight to inspect the inside of the mounting flange for leakage near the bottom rear corner as that is where most leaks
develope. If you still can't see the leak, then it may be time to remove the tank and inspect it properly. Just my .2 cents worth from one who has been down this path.
