A while back there were a couple of messages about filing propellors. The

responses were somewhat short and to the point. Here's some more "food
for
thought".

Suppose you've flown into the wilderness of Alaska, 100 miles from the
nearest road and 150 miles from the nearest A&P. While landing you've
kicked
up som gravel and put a couple of nicks in the prop. While you
contemplate
what to do, your companion goes off in search of food, trips over a log
and
shoots himself in the leg. What do you do?

Well, there's no right answer. Seems like you need to perform an
"emergency
field repair". So you dip into your emergency tool kit, pull out the
proper
implements of destruction, and proced to follow approved methods and
techniques to affect an emergency fix. Then you airloft your (ex) friend
to
the nearest hospital, then head over to the A&P to get the repair checked
and
the appropriate paper work done.

"Where do I learn about all this stuff?" you may ask. Well, start with
http://www.faa.gov/fsdo/orl/files/ADVCIR/AC20-37D.ASC
and follow up with AC 43-13.
