A while back, during a spell of stupidity, I landed my Coupe on a dirt
strip. As it turned out, it was really a mud strip. The nose gear kept
flinging mud into the prop. I ended up with one good nick in each blade
of the prop. Good nick defined as approx. 1/2" wide, and 1/8" deep. A
couple of other tiny ones in each blade. It also took most of the black
paint off the end 10 inches of each blade. I went out the other with a
file, and filed them out. At least rounded the edges so's no sharp
nicks anymore. Then I repainted it. If I was to guess, I'd say I took
the same amount off of each blade weight wise. The question is, did I
do good, or did I do bad? How critical is the blade balance? Could I
have taken enough off with a file to cause balance problems?
