I also suspect, though I've no experience to rely on, that the higher
amount of drag
on the side with the wing, will have a tendency to turn the plane in that
direction.  Thus, left wing gone, plane tends to turn to the right.  This
should
also give you improved forward visibility.  As you can see, if you miss
one of the
warning signals, you should be able to pick up on others.  By the way, if
you miss
all the other indications, you have a 50-50 chance of noticing it when
getting out
of the plane, as, if you dismount on the side without the wing, the first
step is a
doozy.
