Or one can take the regulator out and take it to an
auto electrical shop or one of the (now many) auto
parts stores that has a tester. Make sure they
know it's an ol' fashion generator system.

Same deal with the genny, if it's not the regulator.

Not exactly hard to remove, being right up top
there and all.
