Twenty some years ago I was advised by some people who seemed to know what
they
were talking about (?famous last words?) to always take the regulator and
generator to the shop together.

They said the generator and regulator needed to be adjusted and tested as
a
set. Darned if I know if it's necessary or not but that's what I did and
they've worked just fine since. (sample size of 1)

Never open an attachment with a ".exe" or ".com" or ".vbm" suffix.
To be safe, turn off Microsoft's Visual Basic Macro execution option.
Consider not using Outlook for mail - lots of viruses target its security
flaws.
