IMHO, this will be about as possible as returning an experimental
aircraft to Normal Category. While theretically possible, IAs will shy
away from this work because of the liability incurred if they miss any
work the owner has performed. It will also be far more expensive than a
normal annual, so owners will not have this done.

This is a matter of opinion. I would rather trust an IA in a large shop
who inspects 100+ aircraft a year than a type-rated A&P who looks at 10
coupes per year and little else. There is virtually nothing unique about
inspecting a coupe.
