Have you checked that the main gear action is normal? I saw a plane
taking off at
the national convention (for the Coupes over Washington fly-around) which
had one
gear staying in the ground position after take off. It didn't swing down
to extend
the shock strut. So his right gear gives him no shock absorber action on
landing.

Or you might have bad shock absorber action. Have you and your mechanic
gone
through it?

Others will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the donuts are only for
on-the-ground shock absorption (and maybe the final cushion if you bang
the landing
hard). Most of the cushion should be from the shock absorption.
